PET is a thermoplastic polymer resin of the polyester family. PET offers the wear resistance of nylon with the dimensional stability of acetal. It exhibits excellent strength, rigidity and machinability. It has an improved UV resistance compared to acetal or nylon. PET comes in both natural (white) and black.

PET is good for both wet and dry environments. PET has a 230°F continuous use temperature and is chemically resistant to chlorine and caustic/acidic liquids. PET has a very low moisture absorption. Since natural PET meets FDA, USDA, and 3-A Dairy Sanitation Standards, it can be used in food and dairy processing. The black PET is only FDA compliant.
